There will be a "Special Called School Board Hearing" on January 12, 2023 in the School Board Boardroom located at 901 E Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL. The meeting is currently scheduled to run from 1:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon.

All 3,076 people whose Petitions have been recorded by the school district are entitled to speak at the Hearing.

A Group of Grassroots Organizations – the Hillsborough Grassroots Group (HGG) – are listed below. We have come together to take a stand on behalf of children's innocence and parents' rights in Hillsborough County.

We've identified 12 general areas that need to be addressed by speakers at the Hearing on the 12th. Following is a list of those areas. We are developing talking points and scripts that speakers can use if needed.

If you have other general areas you think should be covered, or talking points on any of the areas, please let me know.

If you turned in a Petition, we need you to come and speak. Please "Reply" to let me know if you are able to be a speaker.

Even if you didn't turn in a Petition or don't want to speak, our children need you to come to the Hearing and stand up for their innocence and in support of those who are speaking.

The following are the identified general areas. Detailed talking points will follow shortly for those wanting to speak.

1.     Amaze.org is an outside website that the school district directs children to in the Sex Ed Curriculum. The Amaze website contains many articles that are inappropriate for children and others that we feel are simply illegal.

2.     Teenconnecttampabay.org is an outside website that the school district directs children to in the Sex Ed Curriculum. The Teen Connect website contains many articles that are inappropriate for children and others that we feel are simply illegal.

3.     Multiple FL State Statutes require abstinence to be promoted as the expected standard for sex ed curriculum. This curriculum fails to comply with those Statutes.

4.     Multiple FL State Statutes require that the benefits of marriage be promoted as part of any sex ed curriculum. This curriculum fails to even mention marriage!

5.     The curriculum contains graphic pictures and introduces sexual concepts that are inappropriate for children. The pictures and concepts are shared in co-ed classes.

6.     Recent FL laws and recent actions by FL political leaders have pushed back against school districts that indoctrinate children and with any governmental entities that fail to comply with the law.

7.     The curriculum defies FL law and promotes gender confusion among children.

8.     The content of the curriculum is heavily influenced by organizations that are in direct opposition to FL laws and traditional community standards.

9.     The Hillsborough School District (traditional public schools) is experiencing budget difficulties because this type of curriculum that indoctrinates children has led tens of thousands of parents to pull their children out of traditional public schools. The state sends funding to school districts solely based on how many children are in class.

10.  The School Board has to be made abundantly aware that Hillsborough County has become more conservative with respect to our children's education and that their decisions should reflect that conservatism.

11.  The process of developing the curriculum was carried out in a way that violated FL statutory notice requirements and violated FL Sunshine Laws.

12.  Judge Isom (the Hearing Officer on November 17th) has issued her recommendation (click here to download a copy). Her conclusions didn't speak to the real problems and violations of FL law being addressed in the Petitions.
